This knife has a Walnut blade which extends the entire length of the knife. The handle is made from Ash and is laminated to the tang of the blade. The blade is 7-3/8" long, 1-3/8" wide and has an overall length of 12-3/4".

It's finished with several coats of a good quality varnish. This gives it strength and allows the knife to be washed with water.

A wooden cake knife makes a great gift for those special cake occasions (like it's Sunday and you need cake). It also makes a good tool for cutting lettuce as the wood doesn't "rust" the leaf.

I started making these as a gift for my wife; then friends and family started asking if I can make one for them and it bloomed into an enjoyable process.
