One of a kind heavy duty segmented Mortar made of Hickory and Mahogany with a Hickory Pestle.
The top section is segmented light coloured Hickory interlaced with Mahogany. Just below that is a deep redish Mahogany and then on the bottom is dark coloured Hickory. (Segmented wood is done by cutting small pieces at just the right angle to glue them into a ring and then gluing the rings together to make a bowl).
The Mortar is 5" in diameter and 3" tall. The walls are a robust 3/4" thick.
The Pestle is 6" long and 1-3/8" in diameter.
The bowl and pestle are finished with a walnut oil that is 100% food safe and durable.
My first Mortar & Pestle was made for Mojitos! Lime, garden fresh Mint leaves and some sugar all muddled together... pour that into a tall glass, add some Rum, and 50/50 Sprite and Club Soda... then sit back in the Adirondacks and enjoy.
