A set of 2 serving bowls and a salad bowl that is just the right size. These bowls are turned from different sections of the same Ash tree, which is why there are some colour variations.
The bowls are finished with a beeswax and mineral blend that is 100% food safe.
The salad bowl is 8" in diameter by 3-1/2" deep and the serving bowls are 6" in diameter by 2" deep.
Wash and rinse with a warm soapy water and dry when you are done. Do not place in a dishwasher.
I get most of my wood as a log from naturally fallen trees in friend's and families' yards. The logs are kept in a dry space for 4 - 6 months to dry and then I cut them into usable sized blanks and turn them on my lathe in my small shop.
This bowl comes from a log I acquired from a friend near Winnipeg Beach.
Turning bowls on the lathe produces a real feel of Aiki (blending or harmonizing with "Ki" - that universal life energy). More so than most of the other items I turn on a lathe.
