Not just the traditional oval shaped wood tanto, but a wooden Tanto that more resembles a live blade. This knife has a Walnut blade which extends the entire length of the knife. The handle is made from Ash and is laminated to the tang of the blade. The blade is just over 5-1/2" long and is 1" wide; and has an overall length of 11".

The blade is shaped as a traditional live blade would be shaped. There is a "shinogi" or ridgeline between the "mune" or back of the blade and the "ha" or edge of the blade.

It's finished with several coats of a good quality varnish to protect it and gives it strength.

An excellent practice weapon in Aikido or other knife taking practice.
