This original hand turned segmented bowl is made with Walnut, Sapele, Maple & Cherry. The rim maintains a unique rustic edged look with each segment.
A beautiful decorative piece as a gift or for yourself to appreciate every day.
There are 121 handmade segments within 5 rings and a Cherry base. Each ring requires meticulous calculations and planning to ensure a good circle with the correct diameter. All pieces are carefully assembled on the lathe and turned to its final shape.
Turning bowls on the lathe produces a real feel of Aiki (blending or harmonizing with "Ki" - that universal life energy). More so than most of the other items I turn on a lathe.
