- Description
A segmented ring bowl is made from a flat section of material that is cut into three rings then stacked and turned on a lathe to form a bowl. This bowl began as two separate boards (Walnut & Hickory) which were weaved together to make one board.
It makes a great fruit bowl as the center piece on your table.
Turning bowls on the lathe produces a real feel of Aiki (blending or harmonizing with "Ki" - that universal life energy). More so than most of the other items I turn on a lathe. Turning a live edge bowl requires a lot of attention as the tool is not connected to the wood for much of the turning time.
