The handle is made from Oak and the blade is made with Maple. The pins are also Maple. The blade is 8" long and has an overall length of 12.75".

A wooden cake knife makes a great gift for those special cake occasions (like it's Sunday and you need cake). It also makes a good tool for cutting lettuce as the wood doesn't "rust" the leaf.

I started making these as a gift for my wife; then friends and family started asking if I can make one for them and it bloomed into an enjoyable process.
